In the face of the devastating Category 5 Tropical Cyclone Ilsa (TC Ilsa) that struck a key pit-stop for travellers along Western Australia’s Kimberley coast, the solar ground mount frame SolarTerrace III-A by Clenergy defied the odds and once again demonstrated its remarkable durability, reaffirming its well-deserved reputation for being built to last.

    Before Cyclone Ilsa 

With extreme wind gusts reaching up to 274 kilometres per hour, TC Ilsa caused a destructive impact when it made landfall in the early hours of 13 April, unleashing damaging winds and wreaking havoc. The Pardoo Roadhouse and Tavern, a popular service station and eatery approximately 130km west of Port Hedland, bore the full force of the storm’s impact. Powerlines were brought down, trees toppled, and the establishment suffered significant damage.

“We are all still a bit shaken and emotional to see the damage from Cyclone Ilsa. She may have wiped us out, but she can’t take away our spirit,” wrote Kelly Anne Martinez, management of Pardoo Roadhouse, on Facebook. “We face a massive clean-up with plans to rebuild. It looks like we have $4 million worth of damage.”

Despite the destructive force of the cyclone, the PV-ezRack SolarTerrace III-A system demonstrated its resilience and remained intact. The system, manufactured from high-quality structural grade and anodised 6005-T5 Aluminium alloy with 304 stainless steel fasteners, underwent the ultimate test in the cyclone chaos and proved its resilience in the harshest of conditions.

SolarTerrace III-A is a pre-assembled kit designed to be installer-friendly, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free installation process. With its low ground clearance, the support legs can be installed either with a concrete ballast footing or with ground screws, which makes it suitable for most challenging soil conditions. Additionally, it is ideal for corrosive environments and comes with full earthing functionality.
